Filling out medical forms for one of my children at urgent care. The form asks for “Mother’s name” and “Mother’s sex”, then “Father’s name” and “Father’s sex”. Such PC ridiculousness makes me angry! Among humans a mother is a female and a father is a male. Claim either one of each or two of one type. Do not conflate the sexes!

Back in 2008, Presidential Candidate Barack Obama proposed the idea of a civilian national security force that would be “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as our military. (see video snippet here)

I wondered recently what had happened to this campaign promise, whether it had been just another political pandering point on the election trail or if it might have actually become a background effort by the Obama administration.  A bit of web browsing gave me many links to a couple of programs that have been hidden in legislation or proposed without enough critical opposition.

1) The concept of a “Ready Reserve Corp” is built into the 2010 Obamacare bill, and specifies thousands of specialists available to provide support in the event of disaster, terrorist attack, emergency, or any situation deemed “appropriate” by the government.

2) The Serve America Act and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act promotes massive expansions to programs that will insure many “community organizing” automatons are promoting the kind of activism preferred by Progressives.

  • The Serve America Act will increase the size of AmeriCorps from 75,000 volunteers to 250,000 by 2017.
  • The Act also creates a Social Innovation Fund that will invest in ideas that are proven to improve outcomes and “what works” funds in federal agencies to promote effective and innovative programs.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act included $201 million in funding for the Corporation for National and Community Service to support an expansion of AmeriCorps State and National and AmeriCorps VISTA programs.
  • Spending a few moments as an AMATEUR investigative journalist, AKA blogger, I then tossed all objectivity aside and could not but help to entertain humorous thoughts regarding the preference we should give to these “soldiers” as our civilian “protectors” and also about what kind of distinguishing uniforms they might incorporate. I mean, seriously, if thousands of newly authorized law enforcement officials are roaming our streets shouldn’t we know whom to approach when our kitten is stuck in a tree or when a public school teacher has touched us inappropriately?

Below are just a few pictures with captions describing how these groups could help make our America a much safer…oh, and fairer, place. Realize that all these groups are already trained in the use of weapons and intimidation tactics so they will be much less expensive to prepare and certainly willing to enforce the Liberal agenda with exuberance. The branch uniforms are obviously suggested by the photos.

    - Black Panthers will staff our polling places to insure the best election outcome. If you as a voter feel intimidated, then you are obviously not voting for the right candidates.

    - Though possibly at odds with the Black Panthers, MS13 would be a serious tool to focus the Latino community. For anyone that doesn’t toe the line, shootings and beheadings are just an additional “gentle’ reminder of what is expected as a compliant citizen.

    - Need I say more? Yes, I must. How can we possibly have an effective “civilian defense force” without a branch to interact with the Muslim community and to enlighten “Islamophobes” of their errant ways. These guys could make sure Sharia law is implemented and enforced as communities are made compliant and complacent.

    Obama_Hope_Terrorist

    - Here is the feminine branch of our national security defense force. CodePink will replace the now defunct WACS (Women’s Army Corps) from World War II with WACKOS (no acronym required).

    - To be inclusive of all hate groups,  a special branch comprised of Skinheads and White Supremacists will prove that the Obama administration is tolerant of all views, though this group will have no enforcement powers as “only white people can be racist’.

    - Lastly, perhaps giving up assless chaps in a parade for the betterment of society will make “homophobes” see the light. Who knows, the gay agenda may be more easily swallowed.

    Done!

A question: If the Islamic nations in the Middle East and North Africa want to resolve the conflict in Libya why don’t they take care of it themselves?

I do not hold a PHD  nor even a Masters degree in any subject that concerns worldly affairs, whether it be political science, international relations, or military strategy. Admittedly possessing no valid qualifications to analyze international incidents or to project any outcome of the complicated international dynamics currently in play, I still think I can speak to a concern that seems obvious to anyone reading current headlines.

My intent is not to rehash the specifics regarding the “democratic” protests recently roiling through the countries in North Africa and the Middle East. In the last several weeks the news cycle has provided constant coverage of evolving situations in traditionally Islamic nations where disgruntled populaces are standing up against dictatorial/tyrannical regimes for “freedom”. Bullets firing, protesters beaten back, even deaths have been reported throughout the region – Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, et al – all praised as democracy at work, with people clamoring for freedom. Enter Libya. Read More→

(Note: I have family members and friends that are openly and proudly gay. I am openly and proudly straight. Differences in lifestyle preferences should not tip the balance of protection to any one group, nor limit anyone’s ability to express an opinion of dissension from another’s viewpoint. Nuff said.)

I usually won’t venture into the subject of homosexuality but a recent news story triggered and reinforced past thoughts about  blind adherence to ‘”political correctness” and the threat it poses to those providing for our  national security and personnel protection. In December of 2010, the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) policy that had been in effect for 17 years was repealed by Congress and approved by President Obama. I understand societal mores changing over time and had let this policy change meld with my personal stance of “Don’t Know, Don’t Care” (DKDC). No problem yet until I see that the army will be mandating gay sensitivity courses for all personnel, even for those on the battlefield! (Here is a link to the official Army website about the training).

Now for my tirade! I am truly worried that our brave military personnel are being put at risk by both the progressive lurch of the current administration and their lackey bureaucrats in charge of our fighting forces. A prime example of my concern that political correctness is hobbling our military leadership is when General George Casey was seemingly more concerned about diversity than the victims of the Ft. Hood massacre.

If gay sensitivity training is a requirement to accommodate gay service personnel and positively affects the personal beliefs of non-gay service personnel, well then, that’s great. But why in hell does it take precedent over a soldier maintaining fighting focus on the battlefield? Even if the training only involves off-duty time of our soldiers in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other military installations around the world, I suggest it is distracting in the least, damaging in fact, for those most closely engaged with our enemies. I would not want a lecture on social political correctness when my job is to engage and kill those who would kill us first.

Imagine this. A suicide bomber is assigned to enter a military base and kill as many US soldiers as possible. Bad enough that we give them barracks or cafeterias or hospital wards to target. Imagine the glee a Jihadist bomber would get from detonating in a “gay sensitivity training” classroom, given that they both reject gays and claim there are no gay people in Islam (snicker). What a message!

To avoid being called “homosensitive” ( I reject the term homophobe) I’ll take this a bit broader. There are countless stories of female prison guards being overpowered by obviously more powerful detainees. One I recall is former linebacker, Brian Nichols, overpowering a single 51 year-old female guard, then killing a judge and two others in the courtroom. This is a result of politically correctness mandating how we hire corrections personnel and assign them to guard threats to our society.

If being politically correct is more important then the safety of our soldiers, our police or our assigned protectors, I’ll choose honesty any day.

Here, again, I have stumbled on a Twitter-style meme that forced me to think about the items government should not be involved in. Hence, following is a list of things I don’t believe government should pay for.

My tax dollars should not pay for …

    - the sustenance of serial criminals and repeat offenders.

    - the unrestricted birth control of non-taxpayers.

    - the frivolous travel and celebration by our illustrious leaders (aka asshats).

    - the unrestricted library and associated internet access of non-taxpayers.

Out of Touch, But Not Clueless

    By · Comments (1)

Vacationing with family and meeting new people while traveling should be treated as a family holiday – it is best to leave discussion of both politics and religion at the door to avoid unnecessary contention ruining what is meant to be a time of renewal.

My family is returning from over three weeks on vacation, two weeks on the Grand Canyon, followed by one week in Hawaii. For this same period I have not listened to any conservative talk radio, nor to any podcasts of my favorites. No Rush Limbaugh. No Mark Levin, No Laura Ingraham. None of the excellent opinion pieces made available through OutLoudOpinion. Not to mention several other of my listening sources. Though I have had a few opportunities to delve in the conservative talk stream I have made the conscious decision not to.

Nor have I turned on TV news when in a hotel room. I’ve purposely ignored the TV monitors seen in airports, sports bars, and lobbies displaying most often CNN, sometimes MSNBC, and occasionally Fox News. Except for the accidental reading of front page newspaper headlines at checkout lines or news rags left behind at coffee bars I have happily avoided reading the typical MSM news stories clearly wrought with opinion.

This break from other peoples views has allowed me time to rethink my perceptions of the world. Without the daily dose of conservative messaging to guide my outlook and without the daily affront of liberal messaging to strengthen my cynicism, I can still claim to be confidently conservative. Yes, I have been out of touch but certainly not clueless.

Only in America – According the the New Jersey Supreme Court, non-English speaking drunk drivers are immune from prosecution if they  can’t understand police commands spoken in English, This is the result of minority coddling, ridiculous multiculturalism, and culture-destroying political correctness at work.
