As an fan of early first person shooter (FPS) games I can fondly remember timeless sessions playing Doom, Quake, and Duke Nukem, then following the genre with a variety of evolving FPS games, including Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, Far Cry, and Fear. In general, I have rejected the psychological and cultural arguments against such games. For me, it was just plain fun.

Now, a new FPS game has been released on the internet that let’s players kill well known conservative figures, representing them as zombies to be beaten or bashed as one advances through the levels. It includes Fox News pundits and political figures such as Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman.

New ‘Tea Party Zombie’ game allows players to kill off conservative leaders, Fox News anchors

By Jeff Poor – The Daily Caller   6:32 PM 09/06/2011

If tea party opponents are really aiming for political civility, the latest online video game from Brooklyn-based StarvingEyes Advergaming won’t do much to further their cause.

Although it isn’t exactly James Hoffa saying “Let’s take these son of a bitches out,” a new video game called “Tea Party Zombies Must Die” has surfaced on the Internet.

The objective of the game is to destroy zombies made in the likenesses of conservative figures including Bill O’Reilly, Brit Hume, Newt Gingrich, Sean Hannity, Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, the Koch brothers and Glenn Beck.

The game also offers players an opportunity to shoot up the headquarters of Fox News, and of the right-wing “Americans for Prosperity” organization.

Americans for Prosperity spokeswoman Jennifer Ridgely declined to comment on the game and StarvingEyes Advergaming did not immediately respond to The Daily Caller’s request for comment.

It’s been a long time since I have given in to playing such mindless games but now I am almost tempted just to show the liberal developers that such a childish effort is not worthy of any outcry by those on the Right. It is just more clear proof of the hypocrisy of a Leftist.

Yet again political correctness and “diversity” trump free expression and trample the American flag. At a public school in California a student was told to remove the US flag from his bicycle “to avoid tension on campus”.

I’ll leave the full text of the news story for you to read but I was struck by what the district superintendent of the public schools, Edward Parraz, was quoted as saying, claiming he is trying to avoid racial tensions.

“(The) First Amendment is important,” Superintendent Edward Parraz said. “We want the kids to respect it, understand it, and with that comes a responsiblity.”

He doesn’t elaborate on what that “responsibility” might be but it seems as though he is equating proudly displaying the National flag with screaming fire in a crowded theater.

Parraz said the campus has recently experienced some racial tension. He said some students got out of hand on Cinco de Mayo, though no details were given on the Cinco de Mayo event, leaving me to wonder which “group” might have gotten out of hand.

Here is the gem quote

“Our Hispanic, you know, kids will, you know, bring their Mexican flags and they’ll display it, and then of course the kids would do the American flag situation, and it does cause kind of a racial tension which we don’t really want,” Parraz said. “We want them to appreciate the cultures.”

Aside from the obvious multiculturalism indoctrination that he closes with, this guy is the superintendent of the schools and clearly sacrifices grammatical correctness for political correctness. One might worry that this inarticulateness may permeate the educational system in the school district.

Parraz said if a disruption arises over a flag, they want it to be taken down to protect the safety of all students.  Ironically, outside of the school, a large U.S. flag flies from atop a flagpole.

Out of Touch, But Not Clueless

Vacationing with family and meeting new people while traveling should be treated as a family holiday – it is best to leave discussion of both politics and religion at the door to avoid unnecessary contention ruining what is meant to be a time of renewal.

My family is returning from over three weeks on vacation, two weeks on the Grand Canyon, followed by one week in Hawaii. For this same period I have not listened to any conservative talk radio, nor to any podcasts of my favorites. No Rush Limbaugh. No Mark Levin, No Laura Ingraham. None of the excellent opinion pieces made available through OutLoudOpinion. Not to mention several other of my listening sources. Though I have had a few opportunities to delve in the conservative talk stream I have made the conscious decision not to.

Nor have I turned on TV news when in a hotel room. I’ve purposely ignored the TV monitors seen in airports, sports bars, and lobbies displaying most often CNN, sometimes MSNBC, and occasionally Fox News. Except for the accidental reading of front page newspaper headlines at checkout lines or news rags left behind at coffee bars I have happily avoided reading the typical MSM news stories clearly wrought with opinion.

This break from other peoples views has allowed me time to rethink my perceptions of the world. Without the daily dose of conservative messaging to guide my outlook and without the daily affront of liberal messaging to strengthen my cynicism, I can still claim to be confidently conservative. Yes, I have been out of touch but certainly not clueless.

On NBC’s Meet The Press this past week there was some discussion about the threat of domestic terrorism. Senator Joe Lieberman (CT – Ind), the chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security, and Michael Chertoff, former Secretary of Homeland Security, appeared to provide opinion about this threat.

The following news item from Voice of America reports some of the comments made by these gentlemen:

Today, the U.S. Senate banned the “Fairness Doctrine”. Actually, they sneakily banned the term “Fairness Doctrine” but left the concept available for future implementation. Legislation from Senator Jim DeMint to ban the FCC from using the FD was overwhelmingly passed. An amendment introduced by Senator Dick Durbin was also passed and essentially leaves the FD intact.

The recent call by prominent Liberals and Democrat leaders to re-impose the Fairness Doctrine is an unashamed push to impose censorship in favor of the Liberal agenda. They claim not to want conservative talk hushed on the radio waves but to give opposing views a chance to be heard.  Liberal talk radio has been tried (Air America) and failed in most markets. Face it, the free market of ideas favors conservative talk radio. If listeners don’t like what is heard on a particular station, then change the dial. Isn’t that what more modest television viewers are told when objecting to some of the profanity and sexuality that is so common on television? Read More→

Since my political awakening on September 11th, 2001, with the image of the destroyed twin towers burned into my brain, I have become a conservative talk radio junkie.  It began with daily doses of Michael Savage, a sprinkling of Lars Larson for a Northwest focus, and hourly news updates from Fox radio. Over time, I discovered all of the great conservative voices being broadcast over AM radio: the voices of Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Shawn Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Bill O’Reilly, Hugh Hewitt and Michael Medved to name several but not all.
