On Christmas Day, Dec. 25th of 2009, an “alleged” Muslim terrorist tried to set off a bomb and bring down a passenger jet in an attempt to murder more than 250 people over Detroit, Michigan. Details of the event became clear faster than the response from the government. In fact it took three days for an official statement from the President, which tied the effort to a lone extremist. (wouldn’t want to rile up any sentiment among the followers of the ‘Religion of Hypersensitivity’ I suppose). I don’t need to make any link to Islamic advocacy groups criticizing the terrorism attempt because they haven’t!
Subsequent news reports have tied the alleged suspect in the attempted bombing to al Qaeda and have reported that US intelligence was aware of the ‘attacker’ before the event. The criticism of both the Administration and the intelligence community began to roil across the internet and news media.
Then, on Dec. 29th, a panicked report of someone loose with a gun shuts down the Capitol for hours.
Given the above connections I could not help but paronoically think that the O administration might have contrived the “capitol shooter” to deflect criticism of the Administration’s handling of a real terrorist event. After all, we have recently seen DHS call attention to “right wing extremists” being a threat and equating Islamic extremism with Right Wing extremism.
Sorry, but I think a few nuts running amok in Western society are not near the concern that millions of radicalized Islamists should be.
Hmmm…just noticed that you call yourself a 9/11 conservative. Does that mean you could possibly revert to whatever political philosophy you held before? I know someone who did that. His reversion isn’t going well.
Anyway…to the point of your post: the Left needs a scapegoat, someone or some group on which they can pile their fears of the Other. And when that Other turns out to be A Terrorist, yet they’re not permitted by the precepts of their Leftist religion to notice Terrorism or even say “that” word, then they have to manufacture a look-alike.
Ta da! Enter the knuckle dragging Right Wing. Oops. Make that the Extremist knuckle-dragging Right Wing. Put Terrorist on the end of that and you have them militia types living out in the boonies marrying their cousins and running stills or (these days) meth labs. (Ignore the fact that Illinois is the proud home of the most meth labs in the US and those guys voted for Obama).
Look at where the guy shot all those college stuents: Virginia.
Look at where Major Hasan grew up: Virginia.
Look at where the Beltway Snipers hid out: Virginia.

Prior to 9/11 I was apathetic, apolitical and ignorantly blind to the realities of true evil around the world. I woke that day and haven’t been able to sleep since. I am not a RWE though that is probably how the Left would categorize me. Oh well!
