I work for the American people, and I’m determined to bring the change that the people voted for last November. And that means cutting what we don’t need to pay for what we do,” Mr. Obama said in announcing his budget.

via Washington Times – Charity tax limits upset many

Many people, both Democrat and Replubican, are questioning the president on his proposals for policies and budgets. Do we sense a bit of buyers remorse?

Mr. President, no one knew exactly what change your vague promises included. Too many people voted for you based on mushy feelings and your slick style.

Today, the U.S. Senate banned the “Fairness Doctrine”. Actually, they sneakily banned the term “Fairness Doctrine” but left the concept available for future implementation. Legislation from Senator Jim DeMint to ban the FCC from using the FD was overwhelmingly passed. An amendment introduced by Senator Dick Durbin was also passed and essentially leaves the FD intact.

Killing Osama Bin Laden

By · Comments (0)

If Osama Bin Laden ran out in front of my car on the freeway and I did not swerve or apply the breaks, turning him into a bloody speedbump, should I feel bad? How would you feel? Probably a little annoyed if you had just washed your car.

Every effort to undermine the worlds remaining superpower is now underway with the presidential election of Barack Obama. Beyond socialism and taking control of the free market, the next and perhaps most frightening step is the regulation of CO2.

E.P.A. Expected to Regulate Carbon Dioxide and Other Heat-Trapping Gases – NYTimes.com.

How far would such regulation go? Could they justify controlling the temperature of my house, limiting my travel, restricting the foods and products I consume, and eventually taxing the CO2 that I exhale? How soon before we have a CO2 offset market? I’ll breathe less so Al Gore can breathe more!

The E.P.A. is a bureaucracy that has been authorized to create and implement regulations for protecting the environment. With a nod from the President and “greenie” supporters I worry that our liberties and lives will be further subjugated by the unconstrained bureaucracy we have enabled.

The recent call by prominent Liberals and Democrat leaders to re-impose the Fairness Doctrine is an unashamed push to impose censorship in favor of the Liberal agenda. They claim not to want conservative talk hushed on the radio waves but to give opposing views a chance to be heard.  Liberal talk radio has been tried (Air America) and failed in most markets. Face it, the free market of ideas favors conservative talk radio. If listeners don’t like what is heard on a particular station, then change the dial. Isn’t that what more modest television viewers are told when objecting to some of the profanity and sexuality that is so common on television? Read More→

Just a bit of sarcastic humor speculating abut the unintended consequences of the looming stimulus package:

(Contributions to this list can be added to comments and I will keep a compilation for anyone interested)

> Right winger assaults on welfare recipients smugly waving “rebate” checks on the rise.

> Angry right-wingers may speed up in make-work construction zones.

> Euphoric hopenchangers are mislead just a little longer about the wisdom of electing President Barack Obama.

> Seeing and hearing Nancy Pelosi brag about stimulus leads to near epidemic of ED.

> Too many American citizens and immigrants begin to think this is an entitlement nation. Oh, they already do!

> All Americans will finally join together…in the same bread line.

> Military pullout from Iraq accelerated….to quell unrest at home.

> Political term “pork” will be dropped to avoid offending pigs and Islamists.

> Obama Memorial construction on National Mall will be done right away with bailout funds.

> Job descriptions for the 3 new jobs created by the bill will languish in committee for 12 years.

Since my political awakening on September 11th, 2001, with the image of the destroyed twin towers burned into my brain, I have become a conservative talk radio junkie.  It began with daily doses of Michael Savage, a sprinkling of Lars Larson for a Northwest focus, and hourly news updates from Fox radio. Over time, I discovered all of the great conservative voices being broadcast over AM radio: the voices of Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Shawn Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Bill O’Reilly, Hugh Hewitt and Michael Medved to name several but not all.
